For whatever reason, the pumpkin pie always seems to be a challenge. Maybe it’s so simple that I neglect to pay attention. But this year the challenge was no prob. Here’s the story. I brought down 15 oz (by weight) … Continue reading
Just thought I’d share a picture of one of the baby deer at LBNL. He was grazing on the wild flowers and greens next to the Molecular Foundry. What a cute little guy! Enjoy!

Hope everyone had an epic christmas and new year! I literally got an epic present from Dr. Joe, this year…Epic Mickey! So far the game has been very fun, although it is taking up a lot of my brain power to learn a game with so many buttons!
In addition to my epic present, I also got some really cool baking presents from Dr. Joe and my parents! Joe got me a brand new hand mixer – which was beyond necessary since my old one smelled like electrical fire the last few times I used it. I’ll post the amazon page once I remember to look it up. I love this mixer because it doesn’t spray my food everywhere! Horrah! I even made my nerd cookies with it, and I give it 5 stars!
Then my parents got me a gift card to King Arthur Flour! I went crazy, especially since my mom also found a promo to get me free shipping! I got a cool cupcake/cake/pie carrier. I’ll be sure to let y’all know how it works when it arrives! I also got some really neat ingredients like jammy bits for PB&J cookies, harvest grains for my breads and pancakes, vermont cheese powder for homemade cheese-its, and some high quality dutch cocoa powder for all of my chocolate goodies.
Way to feed the fuel to my baking-problem fire, Joe, Mom, & Dad! 🙂 I’ll be sure to post recipes I find that utilize these ingredients and tools to the max! (Esp. since all of my KAF order is getting here today!!)
